Learn the history of the sundial

1 hour Max 253 euros per person

Why does a man need a sense of time? Museum educators will tell you how sundials came into being, why man started measuring time and how. You will learn about the first time-measuring devices, how the inhabitants of Klaipėda perceived and estimated time, and what devices they made to calculate time in the 13th and 15th centuries. But it is not only the history of clocks that awaits you. In the second part of the session, you will learn how to make a sundial. It turns out that it is possible and you only need a few tools. Paper, scissors, and a little bit of knowledge, which is precisely what the staff at the Clock and Watch Museum will give you. And then all you have to do is go outside and wait for the sun.
