Pottery making on a pottery wheel is not the only way to create a clay item. You don’t need to have special tools to make a plate, cup or bowl. All you need to know is the basic principles of pottery formation through which you will be guided by the experienced ceramicist Ieva Paukštytė-Schinello. And of course, you will need clay and a desire to mould clay. Guided by the expert, you will turn a lump of clay into a graceful pitcher or sturdy bowl. You will be able to create an interesting textured surface with a variety of surface-forming tools. There are many ways to decorate pottery: cut out individual details and attach them, use incised decoration to create a graphic ornament or combine flat surfaces with embossed decoration. The resulting article is then polished in preparation for firing. The fired dishes can be sent to an address of your choice at an additional cost.
