Learn the techniques of palm weaving

1 hour Max 20 people5 euros per person

In this workshop, school children or adults weave the traditional white palm of Elche to make a small ornament, usually a flower or a rose. In this way, they learn about the craft traditions and the local heritage of this Spanish city. The museum's intention is to raise awareness of techniques that the region's weavers have practised for centuries. In doing so, it aims to connect younger generations with a culture they no longer know. A monitor from the museum leads the workshop, teaching the theoretical and practical basis of palm weaving. For schools, there can be an addition to the guided tour of the museum facilities.
