Create your own lampshade

1 hour Max 10 people¥8,800 per person

Create a one-of-a-kind, compact lampshade inspired by the design of traditional Japanese umbrellas. Located just north of the Imperial Palace, Hiyoshiya provides a rare opportunity to learn first-hand about this ancient craft. Widely used for hundreds of years, umbrellas made of bamboo and washi paper continue to face declining demand in Japan’s modern age. These stylish kotori lampshades are just one example of Hiyoshiya’s approach to passing down tradition through the process of innovation, developing products that stay true to the essence of their craft while meeting the needs of the present.
