An introduction to leathercrafting

15-20 hours 2-3 people15 euros per person per hour

This workshop allows participants to make a classic wallet or tote bag according to the pattern proposed by Jakub Wilczewski. Learn the typical techniques such as saddle stitching, skiving, edge creasing, edge burnishing, or painting. Firstly the leather types are revealed according to their tanning processes such as vegetable tanned or chrome tanned, and finishes which could be waxed, patent, or embossed. The work is done with traditional tools: skiving knife, pricking irons, stitching chisels, diamond awl. Jakub explains his own methods of pattern preparation, the handmade ones with paper and the digital ones.
