Discover Russian treasures

1 person150 rubles

The guide will take you through the two large halls, one of which showcases masterpieces created before the 1917 Bolshevik revolution, and the other displaying Soviet-era and contemporary works. Among them, you will see the famous Gurievsky service ensemble which was ordered by Tsar Alexander I to commemorate the Russian victory in the 1812 Patriotic War with Napoleon, and the famous cobalt blue net ornament, a St. Petersburg legend. The story behind the intersecting blue lines in the ornament is dramatic: it was created by the artist Anna Yatskevich in 1944 and was inspired by the Siege of Leningrad. The pattern echoes the image of windows taped crosswise and cross spotlights dissecting the sky during the blockade. In addition to the tour cost, visitors must buy an entrance ticket of 300 rubles.
