Learn all the basics of hardback cloth bookbinding

5 days 3-5 people500 pounds per person

Do you know how hard back cloth bound books are made? This course covers all the basics of this bookbinding structure. With the well-established British bookbinder Kate Holland, you will explore all techniques necessary for creating your beautiful custom-made hardback cloth book. During one week, do quarter, half and full bindings, single and multi-section, including rounding and backing and ploughing edges – all with your own hands guided by Kate’s rich experience. Kate’s workshop located in a refurbished cowshed in the historic town of Frome known for the binders and first colour printers in the UK Butler and Tanner. This course is suitable for beginners.
