Unveiling the secrets of champlevé enamel
2 days (8 hours) Max 2 people250 chf per personOne of the most traditional enamelling techniques is champlevé, in which cells are carved into the surface of a metal object and filled with vitreous enamel. The metal is then fired at 800°C, so that the enamel fuses. When the object is cooled, the surface is polished and given a final firing, called 'feu de glassage'. In this workshop for beginners, Vanessa Lecci provides carved copper metal bases with a wide choice of subjects (such as butterflies, birds, hearts). Participants have the opportunity to enamel the copper using their choice of colours from the hundreds available in the workshop. Materials are included in the price. Please book in advance.
