Explore the traditional craft of green woodworking

6 days Max 7 people£550 per person

Taught by Jason Mosseri, QEST scholar and expert craftsman, this six-day chairmaking course is set in ancient Sussex woodland, 15 miles north of Brighton. In this charming woodland setting you will learn all the green woodworking skills you need to make a handsome English Windsor chair. From selecting a suitable green Ash log, to cleaving it into parts, to turning on the lathe, you will be guided through each of the processes. The relaxing setting of the woodland will allow you to connect with nature and appreciate the materials which you will work with. At the end of six days, you will leave with a strong, elegant chair, made with your own hands. This six day course (from 9am to 5pm each day), costs £550 per person and includes all materials and lunch.
