Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers, Minute Repeater ultra-thin Thunder God

Les Cabinotiers Minute repeater ultra-thin Thunder God watch has been created in tribute to Japanese mythology. Vacheron Constantin drew inspiration from works by Sōtatsu – a 17th-century Japanese painter regarded as a national treasure in his home country. The piece is a depiction in ink and colour on a gold background of Raijin the Thunder God, appearing on a pair of two-panel screens made at the beginning of the period and kept in the National Museum in Kyoto.

It took about 100 hours of Métiers d'Art craftsmanship to create this watch.

The 18K white gold case is hand-engraved with an ornamental pattern, the minute repeater slide is set with 6 baguette-cut rubies (approx. 0.16 ct) bearing the manual-winding minute repeater 1731. The dial in 18K yellow gold base is hand-engraved and hand-enamelled with a Grand Feu miniature representing the Thunder God.
