Pattern of Crafts

The panel was handcrafted from small pieces of brass and copper that were hand cut and combined to form a pattern. After cutting the little pieces, José combined them like a puzzle, creating a composition that resembles the famous canals of Venice.

Exhibition curator Sebastian Herkner took the geometric pattern of the terrace of the Basilica of San Giorgio, on San Giorgio Maggiore island, and invited selected master artisans to interpret this lace-like octagonal pattern in a graphic artwork.
