When she first started to work with glass, Malvina Middleton was already an established artist whose paintings were in the collection of the State Gallery of Cyprus. The glass artist graduated from the School of Art at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and continued her studies at the School of Art at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and later the University of Wolverhampton where she obtained her Master’s degree. Malvina’s work is characterised by dynamic contrasts of textures and shapes. The artisan uses glass like a blank canvas, which she then covers with coloured light.
