Karen Gossart & Corentin Laval

A duo of contemporary basket weavers, Karen Gossart and Corentin Laval, work under the name of L’Oseraie de L’île. After studying fine arts and training at Fayl Billot's French National School of Basketry, Karen Gossart found in willow basketry the techniques and material to express herself. Since 2012 she has been working alongside Corentin Laval, who mastered the vernacular technique of Bouyricou, a traditional basket of the Bergerac country in Périgord, France. Karen and Corentin travel all over France and Europe participating in exhibitions, training courses and markets.
