Rosie Taylor-Davies

Embroiderer

Rosie Taylor-Davies specialises in the history of embroidery and dress, particularly historical reproduction. Born in New Zealand, Rosie moved to the UK to study. She studied design, garment production and development, women’s and men's wear at the London College of Fashion, fashion drawing at Central St Martins College of Art & Design, as well as textile printing at London College of Printing, and embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework, where she was then invited to become Head of the Commercial Studio. She has worked in couture, theatre, film and television costumes, installation and exhibition art for museums, as well as commercial and bespoke garment production. At the start of the pandemic, she founded The Scrubbery, a charity manufacturing scrubs and other essential items for health workers.
