POL Polloniato

Ceramicist

POL Polloniato comes from a family of master craftsmen in Nove, a small town near Venice, where he now lives and works after spending four years between Paris and Bruxelles. For six generations, his family has been linked to the art of painting and the creation of Italian artistic ceramics. In 2007, POL graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. His artistic research ranges through the use of different materials, chosen and used specifically for each project, with a focus on contemporary ceramics. Critics have hailed him as one of the pioneers in reclaiming historic moulds and using ancient techniques to create modern and surprising ceramic objects. His delicate, ironic and surreal pieces have appeared in exhibitions around the world.
