The bowl with a floral design depicts a Japanese anemone. The anemone flowers are expressed through a combination of the sumi-hajiki technique and a ‘platinum’ glaze. Sumi-hajiki, an ink-based glazing technique, shows Imaizumi XIV's dedication to making his Nabeshima ware unique.
