Gilders Barbara and Luca Spini will be working live in Sala degli Arazzi, showcasing their craftsmanship. The creative duo will work on hand-carved decorative objects, demonstrating the whole gilding process. The artisans will first prepare the surface using natural chalk, apply the Armenian bolo natural powder, before moving on to gilding the objects with gold and silver leaves. They will also demonstrate the final steps of burnishing the gold with agate stones to make it look glossy, applying patina and shellac to create an "antique" look, and finally protecting the surface with natural wax.
