Georg Jensen was founded in 1904 by the namesake Danish silversmith and sculptor, who focused his design on the three pillars of function, democracy and beauty. Excellent craftsmanship, however, is the foundation upon which everything rests. Inspired by nature and Art Nouveau, the company is known worldwide for its minimalist fluid shapes and exquisite ornaments of lush magnolia flowers and grapes. Its collections of distinct tableware, jewellery, watches and modern yet timeless homeware perfectly suit contemporary times.
Handmade by traditional craftsmen in the company's historic workshop, Georg Jensen’s original pieces of silverware are collector’s items, while modern classics are cherished for their clean yet strong aesthetic, beautified by celebrated Danish designers including Arne Jacobsen, Henning Koppel and recently Sophie Bille Brahe. It is not easy to honour and preserve the legacy of a master whilst carrying a brand into the future. At Georg Jensen, however, the two tasks complement each other.
