Magic feathers

  • • Valérie brings the feather into a modern dimension
  • • She worked for the Moulin Rouge and Maison Lemarié
  • • She gives regularly featherwork courses and workshops

Valérie Tanfin is a master featherworker who draws from her experience working in Haute Couture and Performing Arts. The contrast between these two worlds allowed her to acquire a unique savoir-faire. From the lightness and delicacy of a feather, to its movement and volume, Valérie’s work is a constant quest for pure refinement. Light holds a particular place in her creations, she likes to play with it to reveal each feather in its perfect nuance. Whether for interior decoration projects, creating accessories or art, Valérie’s feathers unfold graciously and highlight the poetry of this raw material. Besides her fascination for nature, she is inspired by many artists such as Frida Kahlo, Pierre Soulages or Anish Kapoor.

Koï

The Koï triptych is made from feathers in natural colours by Valérie Tanfin. The feather colours vary from ochre to green and turquoise. Pheasant feathers are smooth with green or bluish highlights and the peacock feathers are thicker and shine like shards of precious stone. The very thin black frame and an anti-reflection and anti-UV glass protect it.
