For years, the workshop of Jesús Rosado has been characterised by hosting the greatest researchers of the classic techniques of Spanish artistic embroidery. They have delved into the original designs, materials and ways of treating the thread in the golden age of sacred and civil embroidery. Its founder, Jesús Rosado Borja, considers himself a craftsman as well as a researcher of the classic traditions of artistic embroidery. From the first moment he saw the magic behind the process, he was trapped by it. A feeling he still has today, 30 years later.
The workshop is based in the city of Ecija, in Seville, and has 16 artisans and embroiderers, who keep alive the millinery traditions of artistic embroidery and needle painting. The execution of their work has placed the workshop among the five best and most recognised in Spain. For them, the greatest value is quality "but balancing this quality with delivery times" is the challenge, says Rosado. Their pieces have crossed borders and have even reached the Vatican.
