Patounis is a Greek soap factory with over 150 years of experience. The secret of this longevity lies in the recipes and practices that have been passed down from father to son for five generations. The company's origins date back to 1850 in Zakynthos, where it was first founded as Bazakis & Co. In 1891, the second factory was built in Corfu, which has been operating ever since by the Patounis family.
From the equipment to the craftsmen's gestures, the manufacturing process of Patounis soap has not changed, and continues to honour the traditional stamped method. Entirely handmade, the production is based solely on raw materials; the quality of the natural oils used guarantees the soap’s authenticity. In 2008, the historic factory was designated a monument of industrial heritage by the Greek Ministry of Culture.
