The Paletky atelier started with a simple ambition of one married couple: to have a healthy wooden bed. Their criteria were for the wood to have had no synthetic treatment and that the origin of the wood must be transparent and sustainable. When they discovered the wonderfully smelling, only heat-treated one-way pallets made of Japanese cedar, they organised a workshop for their friends. To their surprise, many more people participated. For Hana and Lubomír, it was a clear message "This makes sense."
Soon, their idea grew into a company – other enthusiasts joined them, such as artisans, designers and architects. The atelier's principles are local production, maximum manual work and ecologic or sustainable materials. Upcycling constitutes more than half of Paletky's production: they use either one-way pallets, other residual material or local timber. Besides furniture and home accessories, Paletky create interiors all around the country. Moreover, they organise workshops and spread their knowledge about wood and sustainability to the public.
