Open Care is the only company in Italy offering integrated services for the conservation, management and valorisation of art works and collections. It has vaults, exhibition spaces, laboratories for the restoration of artworks and a network of consultants with the specific expertise for the valuation of collectibles and assistance in purchases and sales of artworks and collections.The Conservation and Restoration Department includes five laboratories specialised in the maintenance and restoration of paintings, frescoes, antique, modern and contemporary works of art, wood decorations, tapestries, antique textiles and carpets and a laboratory of antique scientific instruments supported by a diagnostic laboratory.
Isabella Villafranca Soissons is the Director of the Department for Conservation and Restoration at Open Care, a leader in the field of art restoration, she oversees a team of highly skilled restorers, craftspeople with specialised expertise in their respective fields. Valuable carpets are restored using the original techniques they were handcrafted with; the threads being carefully selected by colour, shape and form. Historic wood furnishings from museums or private collections are brought back to their former glory thanks to the mastery of traditional artisanal techniques.
