Arranged for the Dento Kaika exhibition in Fukuoka, this large minimalist piece is made of vivid flowers - roses and carnations - and green leaves. It stands beautifully at the entrance gate of a shrine.

Created for the Hanami 2050 exhibition in Fukuoka, this piece is characterised by the dynamic use of black bamboo, contrasting with the soft petals of alstroemeria and orchids. The reflection on the water makes the work complete and even more beautiful.

This powerful piece was created for the Sakura Gate of Dazaifu Tenmangu, a Shinto shrine in Fukuoka prefecture, with an abundance of native flowers: protea, guzmania, allium, cast-iron plant and dracaena. It’s characterised by a very detailed leaf work: rolled leaves on the base and layered leaves containing the flowers.

A spiral bouquet with thread chrysanthemums, saga chrysanthemums and fountain grass is a homage to the unique Japanese fall season. Pink is the main nuance and Nicolai Bergmann’s signature colour gradation.

An abundance of wax flowers – no bigger than 10 mm each – are packed together and harmonically arranged in a Japanese bowl. To complete the design, which is characterised by Nicolai’s attention to details, he used kudzu seeds of a different, darker colour.
