Micromega is a Venetian atelier and shop known for made-to-measure eyewear. Inventor and founder Roberto Carlon has been in touch with the optician trade since his early childhood, when his father owned an historic shop. In pursuit of creating his own light but resistant eyewear made with true craftsmanship, little material and as few essential tools as possible, Micromega’s laboratory came to life in the San Marco district of Venice in late 2000, and following its success the boutique of the same name opened in 2003.
Roberto and his team handcraft every pair of glasses to their customers’ needs, not shying away from extravagant lens shapes. They use their internationally patented signature titanium wire assembly. The result is a pair of eye- or sunglasses perfectly fit for each customer, an astonishing lightness which has officially been certified as the world’s lightest frame and proven durability by freeing eyewear from its usual weak points. Their quality and aesthetics have convinced many clients and style icons such as Elton John and Yoko Ono are on their lengthy list of customers.
