Kerry Woollen Mills is situated on the Ring of Kerry, along Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast. Established in 1760, the mill has been creating yarns and fabrics from fine wools for over 300 years. Processing wool from fleece to finished product, it is one of the two surviving traditional woollen mills still manufacturing in Ireland. Located by the River Gweestin, the mill draws on the river water for the power to drive its machinery and to wash and dye its wool. Today, the mill also uses advanced weaving technology, marrying tradition with contemporary styling for discerning customers in Ireland and overseas.
The mill was bought by the Eadie family in 1904 and continues to prosper under the fourth generation of family ownership. This company focuses on serving niche markets with products made from natural fibres in classic and traditional styles and colours. Kerry Woollen Mills products are durable, sustainable and intrinsically linked to Ireland’s natural and cultural heritage. A Kerry Woollen Mills product offers the chance to introduce friends and loved ones to the healthy habit of buying authentic, natural, Irish made products.
