Repeating patterns

Katherine Huskie's craft consists of creating exciting and tactile glass objects that make the viewer want to engage with the art. Inspired by nature, sea forms, and repeating patterns, she crafts highly skillful, passionate, and immensely beautiful glass works. Katherine is a renowned master of glassblowing with objects gracing many exhibitions around the world. Her glass works are very wholesome thanks to the great attention to the pattern-building that Katherine gives to each piece. She is constantly innovating and developing her techniques, seeking to evolve and find new ways to craft glass pieces. Driven by dedication and commitment, she continuously pushes the boundaries of her craft and strives for better.

Cassito

Cassito reflects Katherine Huskie's passion for adding textures to blown forms. The bowl form is blown in a mix of blue and green. Once the bowl is made, the craftswoman then adds individual drips of molten glass to the inside to build her undulating pattern.

Cassito

A part of Cassito series. The bowl form is blown in a mix of blue and green. Once the form is made, the individual ‘drips’ of molten glass are added to the inside building the wavy pattern.

Cassito

Part of Cassito series, this bowl is hand blown from a mix of pink and gold glass. Once the form is made, the individual drips of molten glass are added to the inside to build the wavy pattern.

Echinus

Echinus is created by blowing a spherical form and then laying strips of molten glass down the side of the form, one at a time. Once the molten glass is added, Katherine Huskie then uses her tweezers and manipulates each strand to create the distinctive texture.
