This abstract sculpture is part of a collection called Introspection. Arms and tangles generate a sinuous movement, that produces light and shadows. This artwork was crafted with special ceramic modelling and coiling techniques.
Since she was a child, Giorgia Piu was fascinated by the Persian name Nour, meaning “light”, a divine light, evoking kindness and balance. Giorgia was born in Rome and still lives there. She used to express her creativity through painting and drawing until she attended the Matilde Tibuzzi Lab123 workshop in Rome, and really found ceramics. Giorgia says that master Libero Ortuso then changed her life, by teaching her a new way to experience creativity, with freedom and a positive approach. For Giorgia, every sculpture is a journey that stems from the dialogue between ideas, feelings and clay. Working with clay always gives her new emotions and awareness: “it reminds us of our unique homo faber abilities and our link with nature”. Her key word is harmony.
