Established in 1926, Ganci is one of Milan’s oldest factories, taken over by Giuseppe Morandino in 1960. With the help of his son Giovanni, who brought new creativity, revolutionary designs and techniques acquired during his studies at engineering college, Giuseppe introduced new shapes and new decorations. At present, Giovanna, Giuseppe, Giorgio and Gianluca go on pursuing the family’s passion and expertise: they represent the third generation of silversmiths. Culture, knowledge and skills have been handed down from generation to generation in the small factory still in the city centre of Milan.
The company specialises in traditional artisan practices, such as hand finished, casting, assembling, planishing, repoussage, chisel work and engraving. The wide range of silver tableware and accessories includes a rich variety of charger plates, soup tureens, bowls, candlestickes, cutlery, teapots, trays, vases. The pieces are created by silversmiths with excellent artisan skills and painstaking attention to detail. The entire production, consisting mostly of small series with limited numbers of articles, is based on both classical and new models. Bespoke projects are also a significant side of the business, as the artisans working in Ganci are still able to realise any request.
