Edizioni Precarie was born in Palermo in 2013 from an idea of the young architect Carmela Dacchille. Other people have joined the project over time: Giulia Basile, Alessandra Figuccia, Rossella Palazzolo and other collaborators. Carmela’s aim was to reveal and to rediscover the beauty of the simple things of daily life; that’s why she decided to repurpose paper which is normally used in the markets to wrap meat, fish and fried food.
With this particular kind of paper, they create diaries, notebooks, writing paper, notepads, and recipe books. Each piece is handmade and unique. The idea is to work in a traditional way rediscovering the slow rhythms and the manual skills, which have been completely replaced in recent years by digital procedures.
Edizioni Precarie is also an open place where everyone – artists, illustrators, graphic designers, printers and designers –can imagine, design and realise new ideas and projects.
