Despite being a relatively young company, De Castelli has already seen four generations of the Celato family united under the same passion: metal. Founded in 2003 by Albino Celato, the company started off as a simple carpentry firm working for third parties, but the goal had always been to work according to its own rules and visions.
Today De Castelli brings metals to the next level: by purposely creating oxidation and treating it in different ways, the company has successfully managed to “tame” metal and create a colour palette that positions metal in architecture not only as a brutal, industrial element, but also a warm, welcoming material. The company seeks to reinterpret metal as a modern material, used not just for its structural characteristics but also for its aesthetic value – a language that is similar to the that of a goldsmith. And in fact, every year the company presents its novelties through tiny samples placed inside boxes similar to jewellery boxes.
