Cerámica San Ginés was founded in 1999 in Talavera de la Reina by ceramicist Mónica García del Pino Benéitez. The company specialises in decorative ceramics and tiling. The atelier respects local tradition, both its techniques and in the use of its characteristic decorative elements, but has brought great innovation to the field of ceramics through research to respond to today’s contemporary market. From custom hand painted tiles to fine pottery, their creations have received international recognition. San Ginés works with architects to realise tiling projects for facades and the interiors of buildings.
One such notable project was the restoration of the facade of the Victoria Theatre in Talavera de la Reina. Other noteworthy projects include murals for private and public institutions, such as the United States Embassy in Madrid. For Mónica García del Pino Benéitez, ceramics has a family relevance, her great grandfather Juan Ruiz de Luna was instrumental in the rebirth of Talavera pottery. She continues his legacy, all the while embracing a forward-looking vision for the future of ceramics.
