Bottega del Tintoretto, a Venetian art printing workshop, was opened by a group of artists in 1986 with the aim to preserve and transmit the tradition and production of artisanal printing. Named after the Italian Renaissance painter Jacopo Robusti, known as Tintoretto, who used to live in the building next to the workshop, it houses a documentation centre of the 16th-century painter. The workshop, located in the Cannaregio district, is equipped with ancient Venetian tools and printing presses.

In their art publishing workshop "La Stamperia," artists and artisans can collaborate to create unique and hand-bound limited-edition books. Throughout their exhibitions, as well as during numerous annual and intensive courses ranging from more traditional techniques such as engraving, lithography and xylography, to more experimental and contemporary techniques, Bottega del Tintoretto offers a variety of resources and creation spaces. They also have a growing printing library, including ephemera from the 16th-century to the present day.
