Since 1867 Pinton has been one of the leading names in exceptional rugs and tapestries, propelling the Aubusson tradition into modernity, with excellence and creativity as its guiding principles. The atelier is structured around two areas of activity: the Pinton workshop dedicated to luxury decoration and Pinton Éditions devoted to contemporary art.
Located in Felletin, close to the famous town of Aubusson, the Pinton workshop weaves Aubusson tapestries, carpets and rugs in keeping with the traditions of the craft. The atelier is now the only one perpetuating the tradition of tapestry making from France’s historic county of Marche.
It is equipped with all the most cutting-edge technology necessary for contemporary design. Therefore, any material, such as metal threads or lurex, can be blended with traditional wool or silk threads produced in local weaving factories. Pinton Éditions has always been devoted to contemporary art and has woven for the greatest names in art, from Charles Le Brun to Fernand Léger and Calder. Today, the atelier still puts its expertise at the service of contemporary artists such as Jean-Michel Othoniel and Etel Adnan, offering them a stimulating working environment that is constantly changing.
