It all started in 2018. At the time, seven young women who had recently graduated from the training course provided by Aubusson tapestry centre Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie wanted to continue their common adventure and decided to create a company in the form of an association to work together while remaining independent. They rented a large apartment in Aubusson where they installed a large loom. They each have a separate workspace and the status of independent worker, but they often collaborate on big projects. The Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie, for example, immediately gave the Just’Lissières a big boost by entrusting them with the weaving of the first tapestry by El Seed, a renowned street artist.
Today, three of them remain in the association (Aurélie Chéné, Cloé Paty and Marion Subert) but the originality of the workshop remains unchanged: it brings together young women who are keen to promote the savoir-faire related to Aubusson tapestry through their work, which comprises contemporary tapestries, old style reproductions, small tapestries and low-pile carpets.
