A family business at its core, AMRITA is a creative atelier specialized in the manufacture of terracotta stoves and fireplaces. László Zsolt, graduate in economics, and his father, László Carol-Ștefan, a geological engineer who has been passionate about the restoration and reproduction of hundreds of years old terracotta tiles, founded the workshop in 2007 to preserve the cultural heritage left behind by local potters. Made by casting or by manual pressing and hand painted, the tiles have different sizes, shapes and patterns reflecting centuries-old symbols, with Saxon influences.
The atelier’s portfolio includes terracotta stoves and fireplaces appreciated for their aesthetics and functionality and manufactured by skilled masters, accessories and ceramic decorations. The two founders also collect original tiles that are hundreds of years old and have accumulated so far over 1,000 pieces. In the long term, they intend to create their own museum to present them, along with the craft of handmade terracotta tiles.
