What were your first steps in ceramics?
The academy was the place where it all started. However, the real challenge began when I opened my studio. It is only within the four walls of your own studio, without the support of professors, that you realise how little you know and what a long journey awaits you before becoming a true master of the craft.
Which special techniques do you use?
I don’t like to be limited to one ceramic technique. I feel equally comfortable working on a potter's wheel, using my hands, or casting in plaster moulds. I really like creating works using clays with organic additives. I have already fired works with the addition of rice, oats, peas, straw, and coffee beans, with the addition of paper and sawdust.

What do you like the most about ceramics?
It’s interesting that what I like the most in my profession is the same thing that irritates me the most. That is the sense of unpredictability. I can say I wholeheartedly love this. Just when it all seems proven and obvious, the unpredictability always surprises me.
What is a memorable moment from your career?
It was definitely the very first independent firing in my studio. I've never felt such fear combined with excitement. I remember every moment of this long-lasting process. The smell of the studio, the streaks of light reflecting on the stove, the roar of the burners under the stove.
