For 40 years, the Bouroulitis family has been devoted to the silk craft, perpetuating age-old embroidery techniques and making the town of Soufli a recognisable destination for its special silk traditions. The business was established in 1978 by an embroiderer and a famous merchant and objects collector, both native to Soufli. They presented their silk creations at various exhibitions across the world, aiming to showcase the product and make their art known.

Three generations on, the family has continued to create work with this refined silk thread following the Thracian tradition. Byzantine stitch, macramé, knitted lace: the artisans' hands master the most delicate techniques from ancient times. Most of the team of artisans embroider from home. Located in Soufli, the company's home is an open space where seminars and workshops are held right next to the raw material. The space also includes a shop, as well as a folklore museum, Ta Gnafala.
