Lorenz Boegli is internationally renowned as an innovative screen-printing artist. With passion, experience and technical excellence he has pushed the limits of what screen-printing can do, for example through his development of the additive four colour RGB print. In general, “screen-printing offers great opportunities to express and integrate your personality into your work,” he says. “I work very emotionally, since putting a lot of emotion into it differentiates my work.” Since 1981, Lorenz has explored the possibilities of screen-printing in its various forms, helping artists and designers worldwide realise their visions in pigment and paper.

Dimension reflects the interplay within creative production between material, printing technique and finishing, but also between image, colour and the piece as a whole. The collection aims to appeal to all the senses and to explore the possibility of creating a three-dimensional image using coloured paper, screen-printing with iridescent pigments and laser cutting.

For the making of the Breccaschlund card, negative, opaque colours were screen-printed on black paper, which presents a challenge in terms of colour separation and imagination in printing. Lorenz innovated by using silver-plated pigments from the cosmetic industry.
